About this exhibit
The Seven Winds Foundation, together with the Volgograd Mashkov Museum of Fine Arts and the Open Club and ArtRa galleries, present an exhibition of graphic works by Evgeny Chubarov.
The name of the exhibition (Who is Evgeniy Chubarov?) is the most popular question at the Russian auction of Sothebys 2007, which hung in the air after the sale of a painting by a little-known and living artist for a record amount of 562,000 USD. Art critics called Chubarov one of the most promising Russian artists who appeared over the years.
Evgeny Chubarov is an artist who created his own plastic philosophy. His works are in the largest public and private collections around the world, and a graphic series of ink-on-paper works – the famous series of powerful multi-figure compositions – was included in the State Tretyakov Gallery collection. Thanks to the efforts of our foundation, the works of Evgeny Chubarov – one of the most prominent representatives of the Russian underground art – are being shown to the Volgograd public for the first time.
The opening will take place at the Volgograd Mashkov Museum of Fine Arts on May 26, 2015 at 17:00. The exhibition will last until the end of summer.
