About the artist
Alexey Shilov was born in 1973 in Volgograd, after studying at the Faculty of Arts of the Volgograd Pedagogical University, he works as an independent artist and game designer. Participant of numerous exhibitions in Russia and abroad, member of the Union of Artists of Russia.
Alexey Shilov is a storyteller and myth-maker. All of his works, from the earliest to the latest, constitute a recognizable densely populated mythological space … His artistic language contains references to Art Nouveau, Surrealism and Dadaism, comic book and anime aesthetics. In his works there is no line between a living being and an inanimate object.
Olga Malkova, art critic.
The works of Alexei Shilov are included in private collections in Italy, Spain, England, France and Germany, as well as in the collections of the State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and Volgograd Mashkov Museum of Fine Arts.
