About this project

Оbjectives:

Support and popularization of contemporary Russian art and development of inter-regional cultural exchange.

This year’s Kamyshin Plein Air is attended by members of the Society of Lovers of Painting and Drawing – Alexander Florensky, Masha Ivanova and Yulia Kartoshkina.

This year’s plein air session takes place in the spring and includes three separate locations at once (Volgograd, Kamyshin and Saratov), the project begins with an exhibition in LOFT1890 and ends with another exhibition in the Saratov house-museum of Pavel Kuznetsov. Between these two exhibitions – a lot of work and many meetings.

The Society of Lovers of Painting and Drawing was created on July 27, 2004 by artists Alexander Florensky and Ivan Sotnikov (1961-2015) during their trip to the Solovetsky Islands – with the aim of “returning to traditional artistic values in the era of post-modernism, in particular – promoting the painting and drawing from nature”. The Kamyshin Plein Airs project of our foundation provides artists with all the opportunities to realize this idea.
