With deep regret, we must announce that today, March 28, at the age of 87, the famous Volgograd artist Gleb Vyatkin died.
Gleb Vyatkin was our great friend, together we did several large-scale exhibitions, published several albums and made many new plans. We have always admired the skill and indefatigable energy of a wonderful artist and greatly appreciated the moments of our friendly communication and their sincerity.
Farewell to Gleb Vyatkin will take place on April 2 at the Central (Dmitrovsky) cemetery at noon.
Gleb Vyatkin was born in 1934 in Perm. In 1955 he graduated from the Perm Musical College, violin class, and in 1966 – graduated from the Leningrad Vera Mukhin Higher School of Industrial Art. Gleb Vyatkin was awarded the large gold medal of Titian for the fresco “Motherhood” in Cibiana di Cadore (Italy), and the medal of the Renaissance Foundation (Italy) for his contribution to Italian culture. Gleb Vyatkin’s works are included in the collections of the Perm Art Gallery, Art Gallery of Coventry (England), Volgograd Mashkov Museum of Fine Arts and in numerous private collections in Egypt, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, USA, Hungary and Russia.
Until his death, Gleb Vyatkin worked in Volgograd in a small studio on Sovetskaya Street, 23. Violinist, painter, muralist, graphic artist – this fusion formed his individual style, which brought him recognition far beyond Volgograd.
